The pediatric and neonatal unit is located on the third floor of the southern wing of Sina Hospital. This unit has 10 beds for children and 9 beds (incubators) for newborns. The unit has two isolation rooms equipped with suitable air ventilation systems for the scrub room, and it also has 4 patient rooms, each containing 2 separate beds for children (one for boys and one for girls). Among the amenities in each room are a comfortable sofa that can be converted into a bed for the child’s parents to rest, LED night lights, a refrigerator, a separate telephone, and a nurse call system above each patient’s bed, as well as special wardrobes for children’s clothes and belongings, a television, and cheerful room design. This unit also features separate rooms such as a room for blood drawing and dressing, a diaper changing room for newborns, a children’s playroom, a nursing supervisor’s room, and a fully equipped kitchenette (dining table, tea maker, microwave…) for the comfort of both children and their parents. In the children’s playroom, efforts have been made to provide recreational facilities and entertainment to keep sick children happy, such as (small slides, small tables and chairs, drawing supplies, cars and toys…) along with an audiovisual system and DVD to show child-specific movies.
In the neonatal section, which has an isolation room and 8 incubators for newborns under one month old, all necessary therapeutic and specialized facilities have been provided using experienced staff and specialized doctors. Additionally, next to the neonatal section is a room equipped with personal wardrobes, an audiovisual system, a refrigerator, MDF beds, and a calm and comfortable environment for breastfeeding mothers whose newborns are admitted to the section.
